About

About Leicester ACS.

Leicester ACS is the digital home of the Leicester African Caribbean Society, a student-led cultural movement at the University of Leicester. This platform brings together everything that makes the society tick in one place: a living heritage archive, up-to-date event listings, a curated directory of Black-owned businesses, a members-only discussion board, and a culture wall that celebrates the people, the music, and the moments that define the community.

Built for students of African and Caribbean heritage and the wider Leicester community, the app is designed to keep members connected, informed, and inspired — whether you are looking for the next social, sourcing a trusted local business with an ACS member discount, or simply finding your family on campus. Every section is shaped by the society's values of heritage, excellence, and community, and by the principle that we move as one.

The platform is built and maintained by the Leicester ACS committee and its digital team, with the help of member contributors who curate the business directory and keep the culture wall alive. It runs alongside the society's presence on Instagram at @lei.acs and exists to amplify Black voices, champion Black excellence, and carry the weight of our ancestors forward with pride — from the dancefloor to the lecture hall.

New members are always welcome. Join the society to unlock the full experience, including the member discussion board and exclusive discounts across the Leicester Black business directory.
